Allora
About the Community
Allora is a historic country town in Queensland’s Southern Downs, located approximately 25 kilometres north of Warwick.
Known as “The Best Little Town on the Downs”, Allora has a proud rural heritage and a strong sense of community. Surrounded by farming country and productive grazing land, it serves not only local residents but also nearby districts including Hendon, Deuchar, Goomburra and Mount Marshall.
With its tree-lined main street, historic buildings and welcoming country atmosphere, Allora remains a town where neighbours know one another and community connections run deep.
Why This Location Matters
Allora is one of MyRest’s primary service areas.
Many local families have long-standing ties to the district and often prefer to farewell loved ones close to home through a church service, graveside gathering or celebration of life at a familiar local venue.
While Warwick provides additional medical and specialist services, Allora has a strong community identity and excellent local facilities that allow families to remain close to home during one of life’s most difficult times.
As there is currently no crematorium within the Southern Downs, families choosing cremation generally use Warrill Park Crematorium at Willowbank.

Why choose Rest?
Choosing a funeral service provider is a personal decision. We believe families in should have access to an independent alternative. An alternative that doesn't rely on selling the biggest funeral package possible.
At Rest, we aim to:
- give you clear information before you make decisions
- explain the alternatives, including simple and low-cost options
- provide transparent pricing
- respect the choices you make
- encourage families to participate in the farewell
- avoid unnecessary extras
- work with you rather than dictate how things should be done
Most importantly, we don't believe there is a "standard" way to say goodbye. Your person was unique. Their farewell can be too.
What does a funeral in cost?
There isn't one answer because there isn't one type of funeral. The cost depends on what you choose, cremation or burial. It will also vary depending onwhether you have a funeral service, the type of casket or coffin, transport, cemetery charges and other arrangements.
At Rest, we separate our professional fees from costs that are paid to third parties wherever practical, so you can see what you're actually paying for.
We also believe you should be able to make decisions based on clear prices rather than being presented with an expensive package and being told that everything is necessary.
