Casket Liner
A casket liner is a fabric lining placed inside a coffin or casket. It provides a soft, finished surface around the person who has died and can also add colour, pattern or personal meaning to the casket.
Usually made for a Daisybox. Casket liners are commonly associated with the Daisybox, where a liner can be fitted inside the cardboard casket to provide a more personal and finished interior. The liner can be used for both burial and cremation.
Made from fabric. A liner can be made from many different fabrics. Traditionally, funeral casket liners have often been made from new materials such as calico. Alternative liners can instead make use of donated, reclaimed or otherwise unwanted fabrics, giving existing textiles another purpose.
Made especially for the person. A liner can be chosen simply because the family likes the colour or pattern, or because the fabric has a connection to the person who has died. A favourite fabric, clothing material, quilt or other textile can become part of the farewell.

A casket liner is therefore a relatively simple way to make the inside of a casket more personal, and can also be a practical way of giving a piece of existing fabric a new purpose as part of a person’s farewell.
