Hearse
Hearse
A hearse is a vehicle used to respectfully transport a person who has died. Traditionally, a hearse carries the coffin or casket to the funeral service and then to the cemetery or crematorium.
Purpose-built vehicles. Traditional hearses are purpose-built funeral vehicles, usually designed with a long rear compartment to accommodate a coffin or casket and provide a dignified means of transport.
Not always a traditional hearse. Funeral providers may also use other suitable vehicles to transport a person who has died. This can be particularly appropriate for simple or personalised funerals where a family prefers a less traditional approach.
