Palliative Care

Palliative Care

Palliative care is specialised medical care that focuses on relieving pain, symptoms and distress for people living with a serious or life-limiting illness. The goal is to improve comfort and quality of life while providing emotional, practical and spiritual support for both the person and their family.

Palliative care can be provided alongside treatments aimed at curing an illness or, when a cure is no longer possible, as the main focus of care.
