I recently met with an acquaintance that didn’t realise I had started Rest. The subject only came up as we talked about his late wife. Without discussing her death in detail, it had been a long period of suffering for the both of them.
He mentioned that he’d engaged a company from Brisbane to provide the funeral services as they didn’t want to waste their precious retirement funds and there would be no elaborate coffin, no plastic wrapped flowers and no booze up. She said “just cremate me”.
We’re only a young business, so I get why he couldn’t find us. Hopefully our advertising is starting to reach where it needs to, but in the meantime if you know someone that doesn’t want to or simply can’t spend a fortune on a funeral, let them know about us.
