We might be small, and our contribution equally so, but it’s a contribution all the same. I started Rest, wanting to make a difference not only for our clients, but the planet as well.
Funerals can be quite costly for the environment. The energy required to produce timber coffins, chemicals used in bonding, fuel used in transport… it all adds up.
We avoid products like MDF and stick with simple offerings like the Daisybox (cardboard caskets) and wicker caskets. Did you know you can even have a simple wicker tray and be wrapped in a shroud?
Early on, we calculated our carbon footprint for each funeral provided and from the start have been committed to planting 3 trees for every cremation. By doing so we can help build a sustainable future and create homes for native Australian wildlife.
