Southern Downs
About the Region
The Southern Downs is one of Queensland’s most diverse regional areas, stretching from the rich agricultural country surrounding Warwick to the cool-climate vineyards and granite landscapes of the Granite Belt.
The region combines vibrant regional centres, historic country towns and numerous smaller rural communities, all connected by a strong sense of community and a long agricultural history. Whether families live in Warwick, Stanthorpe, Allora, Killarney or one of the many surrounding districts, the Southern Downs remains a place where community connections run deep and neighbours continue to support one another through life’s milestones.
Why This Region Matters
The Southern Downs is the heart of MyRest’s service area.
We proudly support families throughout the region, from larger towns through to the smallest rural communities. Every family is different, but one thing remains consistent across the Southern Downs—the importance of community, family and giving people the opportunity to say goodbye in a way that feels right for them.
Although each town has its own unique character, families regularly travel throughout the region for medical care, shopping, education, sporting events and community gatherings. These connections mean that funeral services often bring together family and friends from many different Southern Downs communities.
