A GUIDING HAND.
Planning for end of life can be a tough subject for many, however in saying that, it doesn’t have to be something to deal with at end of life. You may or may not have heard of terms like ‘death doula’ or ‘death walker’ but really, an end of life doula is someone that can help anyone to plan for and be that guiding hand for the end of their lives, whether it is known to be coming soon or not.
While death is a known fact for all of us, how we get there will vary widely. An end of life doula provides the emotional support as well as information for us to identify how we might want that experience to look like. Please take a look at the resources we have available such as the Queensland Health, Statement of Choices document. Just reading through this can start to give you an understanding of some of the control you can have going forward.
