Terms of Service.
Hopefully we have had a chance to speak and discuss what you are looking for when it comes to your funeral. We have tried to keep the language as simple and clear as possible so that you can decide quickly if we are the service provider for you. The Terms of Service section is also included in a supplement on the last page of every proposal (quote) we send by email or hard copy. Below you will find some important information that is sometimes overlooked during a time that is often stressful and confusing.

Rest Funerals & Death Care provide a simple and very affordable alternative to other similar offerings. We can arrange everything from the simplest unattended cremation to a traditional church service and burial and have a range of suppliers we can work with to suit your needs. Our proposal will always include a breakdown of the various aspects so that you are not left wondering what is included in "packaged" services.

We encourage you to discuss your choices with your family and provide them with the details of whichever provider you choose, to help make it as seamless a process as possible.

While we offer the services listed below, please note that unless stated in the details of your proposal, the following are not included;
  • Funeral or memorial service
  • Booklets or slideshows
  • Music
  • Flowers
  • Dressing
  • Makeup
  • Transport from outside the service area (25km from the specified address)
  • Pallbearing. We can provide one, maybe two people to assist however most burials will require a total of 4 capable people for a Daisybox (6 for a standard coffin or casket). NB. if you require us to provide more pallbearers, please contact us as soon as possible so that we may request this assistance from SDRC. We will need to provide a reason (usually not enough capable attendees).

Rest does not offer at any time;

  • Embalming
  • Reconstruction

Payment.

In keeping with our transparent model of business, we show the credit card fee separately on our invoices. It is currently 1.75% + 30c (however we round down to the nearest dollar). If paying by bank transfer or cash, you will only be asked to pay the subtotal (ie. the amount without the CCD fee).

An invoice is usually only sent on the day that we have collected your person. While we provide 7 days on the invoice, please speak freely with us prior to invoicing if you are in need of more time or a payment plan. It is never our intention to add unnecessary stress to the next of kin at a time when they do not need it.

For clients that have pre-arranged a funeral with us there are also pre-payment options. For clients that have a life limiting / terminal diagnosis, we can accept payment in advance that is kept in our own holding account. For any other pre-payment. we offer funeral bonds through Australia Unity that can be paid by lump sum or repayments spread over time. Please let us know if you would to setup a funeral bond for yourself or your person.

Death Certificate Information.

The Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages Queensland (BDM) provides an official death certificate based on the information provided to us by the client, next of kin or official person acting on behalf of the client. While not all the information on the Personal Details form is required, the more the better.

If you require a medical Cause of Death certificate - sometimes required by insurance companies and banks - we can supply this, as the official certificate usually takes 3-4 weeks from the date of cremation or burial. It can take longer depending on the load experienced by BDM. ** Important - We are unable to expedite this process and appreciate your patience. **
