High Country Medical Practice
Overview
High Country Medical Practice is the principal general practice serving Urbenville and many surrounding border communities including Woodenbong, Legume, Tooloom and Muli Muli. Operating from a modern purpose-built medical centre opened in 2012, the practice provides essential rural healthcare to communities that would otherwise need to travel considerable distances for medical services. The practice works closely with the adjoining Urbenville Multi-Purpose Service and visiting allied health providers.
The current medical centre was developed through a partnership between the local community and Tenterfield Shire Council after it became clear the previous surgery could not be economically upgraded. The purpose-built facility opened in 2012 and remains an important community asset.
