Standard Ashes Container

product

The standard cremation ashes container come in a number of sizes, all following the same design. Plastic, rectangular for easy handling and storage, with a round bung (made from the same material) that will not come out unless forced. The container can be opened and closed a number of times, however that number will vary depending on force used each time.

How do I open the standard ashes container?

Using a flathead screwdriver is the best way. Push the tip under one edge of the round bung lip and use a gentle lever action. Move the tip of the screwdriver a cm or so further along and repeat until the bung comes loose. Watch the how to open a standard ashes container video.

Why it’s needed

At MyRest, we believe families should have the freedom to choose what is meaningful to them, rather than feeling pressured to purchase products they may not want or need. For this reason, we do not generally stock or promote expensive decorative urns. Instead, every cremation includes a standard ashes container, which provides a safe, secure and practical way to return your loved one’s ashes.

Some families later choose to keep the ashes in this container, while others transfer them into a decorative urn, keepsake, scattering tube or another special container that better reflects their loved one or their family’s wishes.
